i have a 2001 durango r/t and am trying to change the head unit and unplugged a purple/ yellow stripe wire and dont know what it does and can not get the new headunit to turn on help please

which head unit are you changing,engine head,headlight??I know the wire is a main lead,check your fuses for a blown one.

the radio it is plugged to the factory radio beside the black and grey 7 wire plug insan i also cant even get my new radio to turn on

OK,you going to have to do some rewireing to get it to work,if you cant figure it out,take it to an indepent raido shop that installs them,they can get your tunes going in no time.

I have a '98 Dodge Durango that sounds like it is running out of gas. It spits and sputters and dies. Pushing in the gas pedal to rev the engine does not help. Durango eventually dies. I have a 2004 Dodge Durango. While driving, I lost all power to the wheels, yet all electrical and engine seemed to be operating. Pulled over, and it would not move , regardless of what gear I put it in ( N, R, D, 1, 2 ) My first guess is the transmission went out, but could there be a sensor or other cause for this.
