Setting distributor all the way down

UNABLE TOO Aline distributor pin with oil
pump slot ,distributor doesn't want to sit
down all the way

Already tried putting screwdriver down to align distributor pin with oil pump slot shaft

Setting distributor all the way down on a 350 a 5.7 motor, tdc, rotor button pointing at number one plug wire distributor drops but won't drop all the way down

You must consider that the shaft will rotate as is drops so you must turn the oil pump to compensate for that, don't worry you'll get it

Try kicking starter just a tad once distributor is in as far as it will go, or turn the rotor a little bit...........

Thanks to all ! I will never give up ! GOD IS IN CONTROL.I'm learning & reading all great idea's . GOD LOVE IS NEVER ENDING.This Chev. 350 don't know who it is messing with. It will drop the day, Yes thanks for all the great idea's.
