Mustang 2001 keeps breaking down

Asked by Chris Sep 10, 2018 at 09:49 PM about the 2001 Ford Mustang

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently test drove a mustang 2001 v6 (3.8l) and
it ran really well so i decided to buy it after a couple
of test runs. As I was driving home, the accelerator
stops working and the mph kept going down and
down and then the temperature kept getting hotter.
Once it cools down i can drive it again but then the
same thing happens. Can anyone help?

I brought a mechanic to check it out with me and he said it looked alright

He's not a true mechanic but he knows the basics. He said its not the transmission or motor. Its most likely an electrical problem. Im bringing an actual mechanic today to take a look at it. And as far as the seller goes he sounds fake so i dont want to talk to him lol
