I have heard about problems with the 2.7 or 2.4 engines after 50,000 miles.  Has there been any notable problems after 50,000 miles with the 2.4 in the 2004 Dodge Caravan?

The 2.7 is the real devil. I have not heard of problems with the 2.4l engine.

2.4l seems to be a very good engine so far.. i have only seen a couple of crankshaft issues..and a few headgasket/cyl head failures for the newest models 01-07 if you are thinking of buying a caravan with this engine, they seem to be slightly underpowered for the weight, i suggest the 3.3or 3.8, reliability and mpg is about the same for all engines but the extra torqe and horsepower of the v6 seem to be better suited to this heavy unit. hope this helped..

Charlie you are right i have the 2007 2.4 first time at 36k miles and had crank shaft problems 3 times in one year engine too weak for the body i think
