Stuttering while in reverse

Asked by Foxtrot_2932 Feb 09, 2017 at 03:12 PM about the 2006 Dodge Caravan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a van today. Drives good but
when I put it into reverse and press the
gas. The van stutters and I can't tell if it is
coming from the breaks or the engine. If I
put it in reverse and let the van go by itself,
it won't stutter. Only while I press the gas.
Stutter is the only way I know how to put it
it just sounds like a loud stuttering

Underdrive compounder gear assy., May have been covered under the original powertrain warranty, but given your vehicle's age you might not be so lucky.
