Over heating

Asked by Dehavannah Aug 24, 2018 at 01:14 PM about the 2004 Chrysler 300M

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've replaced the radiator, water pump,
thermostat, and reservoir on my 300m.
Would it be better to replace the motor
or the head gaskets?

Nothing is wrong! I hope you get this in time before you decide. with major work like that its more than likely air is trapped inside your coolant system yet, You can get someone to bleed the air for you or attempt it yourself. Had the same thing happen to me, was getting irritated and at the point I wanted to replace motor and it was just some air that got trapped inside. It messes really bad with the motor when there is

To bleed air from cooling system remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle you will notice level in tank start to rise this is normal once thermostat starts to open level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back on.
