Try what you have until you find what fits. There are no standard sizes. Maybe 1/2" or 12mm.

I leave my car in Florida, the battery will be dead when i get there and i need to take it out and get a charge. Info was not useful, because i need to buy the right size socket before I get there

Don't pull the battery or disconnect it, instead put it on a float charger. Second, don't buy just A socket. Buy a small socket set, then you'll have a variety of sizes to choose from. A basic socket set can cost as little as $15.
