Ignition switch problems were a big issue back then. Also BCM programming if the vehicle was ever used to jump another vehicle or was jumped itself.

When your 2004 Cadillac Escalade experiences issues like the battery light staying on and the radio not turning off after removing the key, here's a concise response you can provide as a Car Mobile Detailing service: "It's essential to address the battery light and radio issue promptly to maintain the overall health of your vehicle. While detailing is our expertise, I recommend having an experienced auto technician diagnose and resolve this electrical issue. It could be related to a faulty ignition switch, a wiring problem, or a malfunctioning electrical component. Once the underlying issue is fixed, we'd be happy to ensure your Escalade's interior looks its best during our detailing service."

Check the alternator as well. The (internal) voltage regulator could be bad. The radio does have two power inputs. One is switched by the ignition switch and the other is hot all the time for the clock and station presets. Is this an aftermarket stereo? If so, recheck your wiring hook ups. Hope that helps! Jim
