I have a 2003 ford taurus with a 3.0 liter v6.0 I recently changed the belt, alternator, and a 175 amp fuse. After changing the belt and placing a new alternator, the battery light came on. Changed the 175 amp fuse and the battery light went out. After a couple of days the battery light came back on. The battery was bought in september of 2017.

doesn't sound like problem i had; but in my case taurus started fine most of the time, but sometimes wouldn't. after a charge, it would be fine for months. turned out the 800 amp battery was really only putting out 400 amps, which sometimes started the car. battery only one year old
