Unless the engine has high compression pistons regular should be just fine. I would use a lead substitute additive unless the heads were rebuilt for unleaded. I would also use ZDDP in the engine oil.

If it is original then no it is not, that engine needs to have a lead additive added to each and every tank of fuel or valve and seat damage will occur, plus you should run at least 88 or 89 octane, if it pings then go to 91 octane if it still pings then add some Octane 104 booster to the tank, that should stop the ping. Another thing is this E10 fuel, it will be very hard on the fuel hoses, carburetor, and the fuel pump, they now have multi fuel hoses, the new carb kits have E10 compliant componets, and the fuel pumps have also been upgraded. If you keep the car you will eventually have to have the heads redone for unleaded fuel, but until then enjoy the classics. HTH
