Can a 1977 Triumph Spitfire 4 speed rear wheel drive be towed flat on the road or should it be towed on a trailer?

We want to tow our Spitfire behind our RV and are wondering what is the best
way to do this.

You can tow it flat, just make sure it is in neutral, and make sure parking brake is off.

I tow my spitfire from VA to IL. I used a dolly like that the front wheels rode in, disconnected the drive shaft to save on the mileage and wear on rear end. That procedure was recommended by a mechanic
