I have a 97' GMC Sierra K1500. I'm sitting at the stock HP. I want to be around 450-500. I want to know how to do this. Don't tell me to just "do this, this, and this" I want to know why.

There are many different ways to achieve your target HP it mainly depends on the budget for the project, what you are going to be using it for (reliability) and how much time you have to complete. Give us a little more info so we know what your endgame is. Mud bogger? Show truck? Drag truck? etc. Do you want more power in the future?

The final axle ratio will also depend on what you want to use the truck for. I would assume that it is an auto, the stock 4L60e tranny will melt. I would upgrade that as well.

Your Answer:

Sierra
