put a spacer between yer frame and yer body

undo ur u bolts to ur leaf springs and put 3 in blocks under the leaf springs u will have to get longer u bolts too that will bring up ur back end

why dont you tub the car?

get an add a leaf...look at skyjacker's line of products...you may also want to check out the bushings...get a new set of bushings and your ride will respond a little better...

Air shocks is the easiest way, putting a block in between your leaf springs and rear-end isn't too hard. Try to make sure the blocks are actually supplied as a wedge. This raises the rear end while keeping the pinion at the proper angle. (The pinion is the front gear of the rear-end, the part that spins with the drive shaft. you can, in fact, see your pinion angle as the angle of the drive shaft) Stay off the truck sites; call summit racing tech line 330-630- 0240,they will hook you up. Just be aware that any change to rear end height with out changing your pinion angle as it enters the rear-end will make your tires hit harder, i.e. easier to do a burn out. cool for your friends, dangerous in rain and snow. If you are in a snowing state, keep you old, skinny tires for winter. The skinny tires do way better on the snow, and that Elky still will be wild. Do things right the first time, and you won't have to do it again. Good luck, nice ride.

thanks everyone, i should mention that the cra has coils in the back end and not leafsprings because it is based off of the chevelle, and to the one post, i will be mini tubbing it Very soon

you can use front springs from a jeep or an f150...

i agree with the people that said use air cause if you change your tire size again and again you can get the right ride height in a matter of a few seconds. If you want it too hook up you want to be as low in the back as you can the big rubber is going to spin and hop

Put big block rear springs in it those are about 2 inches taller than small block springs

man everyone has an opinion but I have owned 7 el caminos and first off is what are you trying to accomplish with the car. first off air shocks are a big NO NO! shocks aka suspension dampners are neccesary for handling whether you are going straight or around corners. air shocks are dangerous and NOT the right thing to do! poly air air bags inside the rear coils on individual air lines however are the way to go in conjuction with gas or adjustable shocks plus a rear sway bar boxed upper and lower control arms and now your in buissiness.

if your drag racing a set of no hop bars and either poly bushings or del-lum nyliner inserts with steel greaseable bushings are a wheel hop ender for sure

Man dude, your sooo luckyyy that you got your hands on such a beautiful machine. My dream car is a 1970 SS El Camino, I've been looking for one forever but they are so darn expensive. It is sooo hard to find one that is cheap, and if it is cheap then is usually doesn't have an engine. My budget is only like around $2,000, I am only 17 and I've always wanted one since I laid my eyes on one when I was like 5.
