Cruze Limited turbo system...

Asked by Odawg3211 Jul 14, 2019 at 10:34 PM about the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze Limited 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze Limited RS. 1.4 liter
turbo 83ci.i just got my car back from the
dealership as I had to have a new turbo system
installed...the night I got it back it ran like a whole
new car. It was snappy at takeoff my gas mileage
was really good like it was before when I first got
the car....the very next day I started to feel like it
lost power and a couple days after that I was right
and my cars check engine light came back
on....mind you the reason it went in the first place
was for engie. Light on code po299 TURBO
UNDERBOOST....they put a new turbo on 4 days
ago and again it's doing the same thing. It's getting
poor gas mileage, not as quick, runs a bit rough.
I'm a OCD kind of guy and nothing but clean and
the best oil and premium gas is run in my car. My
question is........is running octane booster and all
those additives bad for this particular turbo system
on the cruzes? While I'm thinking Im helping it may
be affecting the engine....
