Can I trade my wrecked car in?

Asked by EmmaleeD4 May 21, 2015 at 05:35 PM about the 2005 Scion xB 5-Door

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I wrecked my 2005 Scion xB and it's
about $1400 worth of damage. It's
paid off so I was wondering if I could
trade it in at a dealership?

They will most likely accept it as trade-in...but be sitting down when they tell you how much they offer. It's going to be next to nothing. The dealers don't like to mess with these things...having to fix it before putting it on lot, then must disclose it's been repaired, or fix it just enough to send to auction to recover what they had to put in it. Come to think of it, many new car dealers won't put a 10 year old car back on their inventory anyway

Craigs List it /// there are lots of young guys out of school for the summer who would love to get a good buy ... even if it needs work

Dealers will only put the cars value at current scrap prices Because of age and condition
