I have a 2002 Saturn Vue 4 cylinder n was on my way
home from work and the battery came on. Could it be
the battery or alternator or maybe the fuses?

Check the charging voltage and the battery voltage. The battery should be about 12.5 and the charging voltage (with engine running) should be about 13.5 to 14.5.

If the charging voltage is low, check your belt for the alternator. It may be loose or worn and slipping.
