I have a. 2002 Saturn vue and hear a loud metallic clang coming from the rear passenger side when I hit a bump and if have extra weight in the car (adults or carrying stuff). What could this noise be from?

....well No. one a shock/shock bushing...it would cost NOTHING to inspect the rubber down there~ have not checked if the vue is a 4wd, but a drive axle is always a suspect~....the CV joints...if you got 'em poke them with a pencil eraser to see if any of the poisonous grease has leaked out~
