Pricing my 2013 Lexus ES 350

Asked by GuruZXNHY Nov 16, 2017 at 09:46 AM about the 2013 Lexus ES 350 FWD

Question type: General

I have an ad with Carsgurus priced at $23,995. The
majority of this model/year do not have
NAVIGATION, a pricy upgraded Option. You have
put that my car is overpriced. Not true !  The dealer
says that it is well priced to sell.  Please investigate
and change accordingly.

Be sure that you have selected the navigation as an option. Also, remember that you're only going to get back a fraction of what the option cost as new. Literally, if it was a $2000 nav system new, it's only worth about $500 to a dealer on trade and you'll only get about an additional $750 - $850 for it on private sale. I am sure that is NOT what you want to hear, but as someone who is in the business I'm just trying to let you know how it is. Also, remember that CarGurus uses IMV, or Instant Market Value, to put a number on your car. This number reflects what the cars are selling for in the current market and may be thousands less than KBB, NADA, etc. It could also be thousands more. The market is very fluid, so if the price you are looking to sell for is only considered overpriced by a few hundred bucks to a thousand, maybe wait a week or two and see what the IMV is at that time. It may be more towards what you are looking to get. Best of luck with your sale.
