My passenger accidentally spilled her soda, which partially went in the gear box area. It was difficult to shift at first but then it loosened. Should I take it in for servicing?

It would be a good idea to get the soda out of there. Soda never goes away on its own. Everytime it gets humid the soda will become sticky again.
