What will cause coolant to spurt out of radiator while cranking.

I just replaced the lower radiator hose, filled
with coolant and went to bleed the system. As
soon as I started cranking the engine, the
coolant came shooting out of the radiator I'm
stuck, do you have any ideas what would
cause this.

Why did you need to replace the radiator hose? It blew ...sprung a leak? Has it overheated? Now if you filled with coolant, and started with radiator cap off and coolant came spewing out it could be the dreaded head gasket... pressure from cylinders pushing in to water jacket in block or head. Or with cap on it came out where? Just need more details

Possibly a bad head gasket or a cracked head. I'll bet you are replacing the radiator hose cause it burst due to combustion gasses being introduced into the cooling system. Am I correct?
