will toyota have to honor advertised price

Asked by Anh Aug 13, 2023 at 11:59 AM about the 2021 Toyota Camry XSE V6 FWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Hi, Ive been looking at this Toyota Camry XSE for a while and one of the
main reasons why was because of the price.  I only recently looked into
when I realized that the advertised price on the website was extremely
underpriced and I've printed out numerous quotes and have a couple
screenshots.  Its been there for a while and it was only recently when I tried
to reach out to them that I realized the price was changed within the hour.
Would I be able to the get the car at that price?

You probably just found out why the vehicle has been for sale for so long. I've seen this happen before. A vehicle is offered at a very attractive price, you show interest, and boom the price goes up. Best to stay away from an unscrupulous dealer like that. If their ethics are like that, imagine what kind of vehicles they're selling! Another thing to keep in mind is when a vehicle is offered well below market value, there's usually a reason. It's probably got something wrong with it. I got burned like that many years ago. Keep shopping! Hope that helps! Jim

If the ad has been there for a while, the car probably isn't even for sale anymore. These shit- for-brains dealers keep ads in to induce buyers. And then when you want to buy, they tell you that car just sold and offer you something else... Ah, bait-n-switch.

I have no idea why car dealers have their own rules about price fixing and bait & switch tactics which seem to go unpunished by our officials, but it's quite clear there is mass corruption within our system, and the officials who are supposed to protect consumers from the type of fraud that this seller is pulling on you needs to be made public. PLEASE TELL US THE DEALER'S BUSINESS NAME AND THE DISTRICT THEY ARE IN. It is the only way to fix this.
