Sunroof won't close entirely after I pulled the solid slider past the glass part.

Asked by mahhria Sep 21, 2012 at 08:44 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a sunroof which worked properly up until I strongly pulled the solid slider (to block out the sun) past the actual glass part.  Now the sunroof won't close because it stops about two inches behind where the solid slider stops.  I tried to push the solid slider back behind the glass but it won't budge.  Please help!

the only thing u can really do is try and get the solid slider aligned with the glass again open ur sunfroof all the way and try and move it back. there is a thing attatched to the glass that pulls the (solid) slider with it when u open it. so ur (solid) slider is on the wrong side of whatever it is that pulls it back. you might even need to take the glass off to get it where it needs to be. do not keep attempting to close it all the way

^^^...until the (solid) slider is back in place or you will burn out the motor that moves the glass which would turn this cheap fix into more work then need be
