If the instrument cluster is electronic, you usually have to replace instrument cluster. I don't believe replacing a bulb is applicable on this vehicle. I'm talking about the mil/check engine lamp. The computer grounds that lamp circuit. Of course you need voltage, but, some of the other lamps use the same voltage, so if no voltage, the other lamps wouldn't work either. I am not an instrument cluster expert. This is just my opinion.

Go to your local hard ware store pick up some black electrical tape and place it directly over the engine light. Works 60% of the time everytime.
