When you contact the dealer for pricing the prices are "jacked up", why?

I have inquired 2 times from Mercedes dealers regarding a GLE3504matic.  
Each time the dealers have come back and stated their price is $5000 to
$6000 more than their quoted price.  The price from the dealership and
Cargurus are the same.  Would this not be false advertising?  Needless to
say I would not do business with either dealership if they are not going to
stick with the quoted price on their website and with Cargurus.

Not only are car dealers smucks but there is a car shortage that is limiting the new car supply. It sucks but hopefully it will get better.
