Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1992 Plymouth Acclaim that shifts great until it is warmed up all the way. Then it shifts fine until 2nd to 3rd. It will hang in 2nd until you let off the gas. Filter and Fluid have been changed and the fluid level is correct. It is a 2.5 Liter with a 3 speed auto.

it really doesn't sound like the level is correct... make sure that its filled with fluid for the recommended amount when changing the filter also... if it actually is correct it sounds like a valve body is sticking... maybe another flush will work or the valve bodies need to be cleaned... it could also be the second gear brake band servo... there could be a hydraulic leak internally... (or even the pump could be failing.. highly unlikely...)take it to mister T

I have the same model car with the same issue. I would like to know what other car brand may be compatable so that I can change the entire transmission.
