Ford e350 econoline shuttle bus

I have a 1996 Ford e350 econoline. We can drive it for
miles and miles but as soon as we stop and need to park,
if we put it in reverse, it shuts off. Every single time. What
can possibly that.

The IAC valve could of failed. ( Idle air controller )
