i have 97 e-150 van and it has no reverse and acts like drive and reverse are trying to engage at sme time what can i do to repair

so its a f-150? correct? then what you can try is the "transmission gear sensor" its on the transmission driver side if that is damaged replace it, if not check its alignment, (steps for alignment check for this sensor)1.you need to block the tires 2. put the vehicle in neutral 3. slide under it and look for the lines on it 4. loosen it line up the markers and tighten it. if problem continues check your transmission valves (really hard so start with the sensor) here to help -RTBBilly

cambia el selenoide de reversa es el primer paso , recuerda que los cloches de la primera y la reversa son el mismo , son uno solo para los dos velocidades. el otro problema es adentro de la transmision , como se transmite la reversa a traves de unos pinones cuatro o cinco chiquitos si tienen mucho desgaste o alguno perdio la base , no se puede activar la reversa, En todas las transmisines estan en el ultimo juego de cloche en la parte de afuera como una campana lo que cambia es por donde se activa el cloche por el centro y por la parte de afuera esa es la reversa. suerte
