Can I use 5w20 synthetic oil?

Asked by Chevelier Feb 08, 2020 at 07:44 PM about the 2000 Plymouth Voyager Minivan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My voyager 3.0 has noisy lifters for 4 minutes
when its cold. It has a new oil pump and gets 5w30
synthetic every 3000 miles. Would switching to
5w20 solve this issue?

1 Answer

Nope. The real number with oils is the first one. The second number is less important and has to do with the way the oil works when it is hot.
