is there an inner oil seal

when I pulled out the drivers side axle oil poured out with the axle. This did not happen on the passenger side. if there is an inner seal to keep out the gear lube, how is it accessed?

Are we talking about the rear end or front end? There is no inner seals on the rear

It was the rear axle housing. I have 2 bravadas and had to replace bearings, seals, and 1 axle each. Bought a used axle housing for parts. Only one side on one car was full of oil. The others just had grease in the bearings. Made me wonder if there was another seal at the gear side.
