Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I operate by HAND the front power valve on Autolite 4100  it pumps
plenty of fuel into the carburetor and the car starts first time even at minus 5
deg
but I noticed that when I press the accelerator pedal the throttle works fine
but the power valve either only moves a bit or doesn't go fully back to load
again so that I can pump fuel three or four times to start the car, the valve
itself seems fine but the arm only moves a tiny bit its not the arm setting, I've
tried that. Can the spring be made stronger to help it return etc? adjustments
etc

It sounds like a linkage problem. Look for an adjustment but something may be worn out. Is your choke working properly?
