Annoying door chime

Asked by macchiavelo Sep 15, 2013 at 03:01 PM about the 1991 Nissan Sentra XE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The door chime on my Sentra goes off randomly while i'm driving. Usually on days
when it's really hot. It's annoying.

Why does it do it? How do i fix it or, at least, how can i disable it? Could it be that one
of the doors is not closing properly/a pin is not completely pressed when closing one of
the doors?

The door or the pin could be damaged, thus preventing the pin from doing the full course. When you hear the sound while driving, park on the side of the road, push the pin by hand and you'll see if it's that. If you still hear the sound, you'll have to open it to see. If you're lazy, you could also unplug the fuse IF it is alone on the circuit.
