Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I added ac refrigerant to my car after it started blowing hot air. Now its not working at all. Blueberry is blowing hot air not sweat on line or the ac/dryer. Please explain what the problem is.

No sweat usually means no circulation in your system. Possible blockage? Dessicant in your dryer could be oversaturated with old pag/ester oil. Also a possilbe leak in your system. When you added the refrigerant, did you notice the compressor clutch " clicking" on and off and noticed that the can getting colder? If not, freon may not have been added into the system. That could be many reasons but one may be no power to the a/c compressor which is pretty common. Tell us what happened when you were adding freon and it may help us get a definate direction of what may be happening. Good luck! // Charlie

I had a similar problem in my 03 Chevy 2500HD, it wouldnt blow cold air. I put more refridgerent in and then when that did not work i took it to a mechanic. The problem was an overpressurization of the system. It needed to be bled, flushed, and filled again. It worked for me, might work for you.
