Hi Lotuscat, With a regular and consistent maintenace schedule your Xterra could easily run for 200,000 miles. My sister has an 8 year old Xterra that has 155,000 and has had very little problems. Good luck!

149,504, very little problems on my 2000 4WD. Everything still works great, even after 17 years in harsh, salty Hawaii. In January I moved and drove across America via I-70, no issues even at nearly 12,000 feet elevation or -19 degrees below zero, it started right up. Started noticing oil leak while running last week, it was a gasket. Did a bunch of routine maintenance, gaskets, timing belt, oil pump and sensor, and water pump. I'm planning to get at least another 150,000

I have 230,000 on mine and am wondering if it would be worthwhile to spend some money on it to fix minor and transmission problems?

230k on my xterra only issues it has developed at 230k is struts are done for and shocks. Frequent oil changes with royal purple seems to keep the beast going have not replaced any parts and starter is going out slowly.

I just turned 180,000, on my 2006. Replaced a radiator, and driver's side window motor. Engine is strong, still have the original spark plugs even. Oh and did a break job on front. No body damage will need rear shocks, and rear door shocks soon. I'm trying for 250,000. Anybody think I will make it?

We have a 2001 Xterra and just went over 270,000 miles. Just starting to have some problems with cutting off when driving slowly. Had at a repair shop and they cannot find the problem. We believe it might be with the security system. Anyone had a problem like this?

I'm going to test drive a 2001 SE tomorrow with 153k on it. Advertised purchase price is $2995. I've done some research and it seems they're prone to transmission problems. Can anyone comment? Thanks.

My 2003 Xterra se 4x4 has over 212,000 miles. Runs like a top and is a beast in the snow. Recently replaced front and rear struts, radiator, and starter. Plan on driving it for another 100,000 miles +. Great vehicle extremely reliable!
