Rear Caliper replacement and now no pressure

Asked by Arty_g Nov 15, 2020 at 09:10 PM about the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced rear calipers (rear/driver side completely
bad) pistons still retrieved, pushed break petal
multiple times and still not touching break pads.
Tried to bleed but very little fluid or none at all.
Front bleeding no issues, was able to get clear/new
fluid.

How long? Was out there pushing break pedal for a solid hour. Pedal not hitting the floor but it is soft... Could it be anything with ABS? I’ve seen it’s a good idea to bleed before replacing calipers but there was just no way of doing that with this car. Piston was already out on previous caliper.

Another thought, could be a plugged brake line....either in the line running to the rear, or where it splits to go to each rear tire
