You may have an issue with your idle air control valve (IAC) or throtle position sensor (TPS). Is your check engine light on ? Check that the air inlet hose going to the throtle body is connected and not cracked. Also check the connections from the air cleaner to the throtle body..

have autozone or someone like it to read the check engine light codes, the computer has stored a code about something.

You may have more than one code, let us know what the code is but keep them in order
