I had my car scanned for why the SES light is on non stop now for about 4 months. Code for EVAP major leak 445 and also catalytic convertor code 420. Is this going to go from Bad to Worse?!?

I am aware of the issues right off the bat
with this 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5SL.  This
car has sentimental value to me as my
Father passed away in 2012 and now his
car is mine. We picked it out together brand
new at the lot,he even let me drive it away.
He had had nothing but issues with
it,started even in 2003 with the front
struts...Recall after recall.
Now with 156,000 I am having more
serious issues with it. Since ownership of it
in Oct of 2012,I've replaced alternater, all
spark plugs,all coil packs,wire harness,O2
front sensor.
Currently was at our local  mechanic and it
looks like a fuel valve and or catalytic
convertor. What next the head gasket ?
After this fix I might look to sell it like Dad
should've done before he fixed what he
fixed. Has NISSAN ever dessert up to the
engine issues?

Thank you for your input,Tom. My mechanic has evap valve on order from Nissan should have it Tues. I hope it works. I'll also check (just to be sure) if the gas cap is loose. Meantime he reset the computer for me to drive it awhile to see if it'll come back on. Hopefully it's an inexpensive fix.
