repair hinge on altima glove box

Asked by Golfman47 Sep 01, 2014 at 09:46 AM about the 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The glove box drups on the side and is hard to close properly. There is a L shaped plastic part that came out and I think it is supposed to keep the glove box door level. How do i put this piece in place?

stand outside your altimaopen the passenger door. angle yourself to where you can see the very bottom of the glovebox door. push it where it should be placed and at the btoom there will be a hole that should line up with another hole. you can put a decent sized screw in that hole and lock a bolt on the other side to hold in place. if one of the holes are damaged you may have to buy a new glovebox door or somehow repair the plastic piece. This isn't a professinal fix but it works.
