DIC "replace battery in remote key"
Asked by rickinormond Nov 12, 2023 at 12:47 PM about the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse Premier FWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Just received this notice for the first time, so I replaced batteries in both of my
remote keys. However, I am still receiving the message with each key. Is there
a way to clear this notification? Thanks in advance.

It's likely that when you replaced the battery in one fob, the car lost the code for that fob and subsequently, the second fob, as well. There's a section in that 400 page owners manual that covers this, but as badly as those tomes are written, you might have a difficult time finding it. If you have a problem, consult the dealer.
Had the same problem with my Equinox, Ace Hardware had a machine that fixed it. You can probably get a locksmith that can help.

Thanks for the input. To be clear, the remotes have never stopped working (yet). I will check with Ace or Autozone to see if they have the possible fix before dealing with the dealer.
