Should 2003 Nissan Altima fuel pump run continuously when engine is off and key on?

No. The fuel pump should only run for 5-10 seconds. If the engine doesn't start, the pump should stop.

    Son rear ended a car and both air bags deployed. Now he has no power to fuel pump. At least it seems like there is no power, unhooked fuel lines and pump,is not pumping.
