my gf just bought a maxima and it's got 200K+ miles. Last two times it's been driven it would just lose all power to the wheels but it would still be running. Engine revs but doesn't go anywhere. Help

Asked by Rlj1288 Jan 08, 2017 at 12:18 PM about the 2004 Nissan Maxima SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It's an automatic and i tried shifting out of D and
back but still won't go. After about 5-10min, it'll rev
up to 4000rpm on its own and then it'll be fine.
Craziest thing I've ever witnessed. Please help!

Have you check the fluid level in the tranny? If thats ok try to if you can read any codes that may be stored in the ECM, computer...
