I am looking for a particular model of VW not available in US (Golf R estate).
Can I purchase overseas from car listed in UK CarGurus and ship to nearest
US port?

I doubt you could do it legally but ask your VW dealer. Most likely this model does not meet US emissions or safety standards. If it were legal it would be sold here.
