I have a 2019 Hyundai Sonata Limited and it also has the same flashing light near the windshield. In my car, when the security system is disabled, the red light flashes. When the security system is enabled by locking the doors, then the light is solid red. I hope this helps.

From my understanding t's a security feature. Those trying to steal from vehicle are dissuaded by a flashing light. This mostly applies to more densely populated areas but having been a victim of theft myself I've learned that any minor feature can make a big difference in the likelihood of facing issues

This 'security feature' also contributes to battery drain. Our car was left in a parking lot and not run for 18 days while my family was on a cruise and we returned to find a dead battery. The clock was the only other thing also running during that time.
