2019 Mitubishi Outlander Sport

when i pull the key out of the ignition, it states "remove key". It does not
acknowledge that the key has been removed. Can't lock the doors, etc.

I wonder if a key pin is stuck causing it to sense that the key is still in the ignition. Try a shot of wd40 into the switch and repeatedly insert and remove key a few times to see if that helps

I’m having the same issue. Don’t know what to do. It won’t let me lock the doors and it says to remove keys.

I have a 2019 Outlander also and it just started doing this today!!! The ignition is in the right position for each action (Off ACC, On, Start), and I’ve tried turning it off and on, exiting and re-entering the car, trying the remote, and nothing works to get the light off). I am able to lock the car from the inside or outside with the key. I

My issue resolved itself after about 4 hours of driving and parking the car for a few hours. I forgot about the remove key light issue and used the the remote to open the door and it worked. I started the car, turned it off, and removed the key, and the Remove Key Light was no longer showing.
