Why do gears grind even if I press the clutch on a Mitsubishi galant 96

Sounds like Clutch fluid low or clutch slave cylinder needs bleeding or replaced. Have someone press the clutch while you watch the slave cylinder. If it does not fully extend that's where I would start.
