A lift kit is one that alters the suspension. It raises the ride height of your truck. There are several different kinds and they vary per suspension setup. You might have leave springs or coiled suspension. I believe for your application you have leave springs in the rear and coils in the front. Depending on how high you are looking to lift your truck you might be able to just go with a block kit in the rear. You can usually find kits online at stores like Ebay, or a simple Google search should yield you results.
