I have a 1999 mitishibishi galant and the timing belt broke
so i hought a timing belt and 2 other belts my brother
changed them but when i turn my car on it makes a noise
what does that mean

That car came with about four different engines. If a belt breaks on an "interference engine", it will be severely damaged. The interference engines for that car are 2.4 SOHC, 3.0 DOHC, and 3.0 SOHC 24 valve (not 12 valve). Which engine do you have? I'll try to get back to you.

Get a second opinion but my info shows the 3.0 DOHC is an interference engine and probably was damaged. You may be able to rebuilt the head (valves) but it would be more economical to look for a used replacement engine at a salvage yard. Or replace the car entirely.
