Please help me figure out the problem

My 1983 98oldsmobile ran hot and now the engine is
dieing out on me what does that mean? Trying figure out
what's wrong with my car

Find out why the engine's overheating and fix it. That's what everybody else does..... Might be low on coolant; might have a bad water pump or thermostat; Might be running rich... And the list goes on and on.

Do a compression test , Is there white goop under the oil fill cap ? Is the exhaust whitish ?
