Dashboard lights

Asked by thatagirl28 Jul 08, 2015 at 11:24 AM about the 2003 Mitsubishi Galant LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I started my car it would not
turn over. A green light on the far
right of the dashboard appeared,
with a pic of a car key in it. What
does this light indicate?

This happened to me. I fixed it by doing the following: lock your car, using your key manually unlock the door and then lock it again, 3 times, then putting the key in the ignition turn the key but do not start the car, do this 3 times. take your key out of the ignition, put it back in and start the car. The green car light with the key in it should go off. The memory of your car thinks someone is trying to steal your car. I took my car to the dealer and they had no clue what was wrong, my cousin told me about this and it worked for me.
