Front brake rotor removal

Asked by Tracy Mar 11, 2010 at 12:32 PM about the 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Last night I attempted to put new brakes and rotors on the front of my 06 Eclipse.  I removed the caliper, housing, and two screws that supposedly hold the rotor on.  The rotor is on so tight I couldn't get it off.  Do I need some type of pulling tool or do I just beat the daylights out of it with a rubber mallet to get it off?  The rotors do have holes tapped in the front of them for possibly a removal tool to be screwed on.

Thank you.

Thread a long bolts into those holes and it should push the rotor off the hub. Turn each a little at a time to pull it off evenly.
