2007 nissan altima 2.5 Do I need a new main engine computer?

Asked by Lalaortiz805 Apr 23, 2019 at 03:15 AM about the 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm having trouble with power. Battery, alternator,
serpentine belt replaced. Cant afford new harness
so macanic has replaced wires needed, connector
heads, wrapped and protected all wires etc. On idle
alternator is still at 13 to 12.86. When driving goes
down. What's next? He said he thinks I need a new
main engine computer. Please advice. Pic is from
after wires replaced, and before connectors were
replaced.

Locate a mechanic that knows how to diagnose charging systems (electronics)... a few steps to determine the cause of trouble such as battery voltage at B+ terminal of ALT next connector pin voltages at harness connection etc .. diagrams and specs for charging system. Don't fault the computer before testing. Call around find a shop that has a Consult III fast way to check out a Nissan worth a $100
